inSerious question, is it normal for a campus to cancel a guest just for a past tweet?
Where does this stop then?

inOur library's 'challenged books' display got taken down after a single complaint
That's so frustrating to hear. It feels like a real loss for the whole community when one voice gets to shut down a conversation for everyone. Our local branch had a similar issue last year with a teen book display that included a graphic novel about identity. A couple of complaints got it moved to a back corner, which basically hid it. It just makes the library feel less open and less like a place for learning.

inTIL a customer's dog is a better sausage critic than their owner
Oh man, that's brutal! I always figured dogs would eat anything, you know, like a free pass for taste testing. But that story, a dog just giving up after two chews? That's a whole new level of honest feedback right there. It's like they have zero filter, which is kinda scary. Makes you rethink the whole "happy dog, happy customer" idea.

inA contractor in Boise told me my pocket hole jig setup was wrong and I argued, but he was right.
Ever have a moment where you're so sure you're right that you double down? I did that with a plumber over a simple washer hookup, and man, was my face red. Sometimes you just gotta listen to the guy who does it every day.

inAppreciation post: The guy at the Denver shop who still buys single issues
That guy is a hero. Everyone else is scrolling on their phones while he's got that new comic smell on his hands. Let them laugh, he's the one with the actual thing, not just another file on a tablet. The ritual is half the fun, walking out of the shop with a stack for the weekend. Bet he doesn't have to worry about a dead battery either.
