Update: My 'crazy' idea to use a zip tie as a temporary lift bag clip actually saved a job in Mobile last week

We were 60 feet down on a salvage op and the primary bag's carabiner snapped, so I grabbed a heavy duty zip tie from my tool pouch and it held the load long enough for us to get a proper replacement sent down, which honestly makes me wonder what other simple 'junk' in your kit has saved you in a pinch?

Heard about a buddy who used a paperclip to fix a broken radio wire on a rig. Honestly, it held for three days until the new part came in. Makes you look at your junk drawer differently.

Taped a cracked headlight with clear packing tape once.

Oh man, @lindaj11, that's the real deal. I once used a piece of a soda can and some electrical tape to fix a cracked coolant hose on my old truck. Drove it like that for a week, checking it every day. You start seeing everything as a possible fix. A zip tie is a temporary bolt, a bread twist tie is a wire... it all works in a pinch.
