Bet that motherboard was screaming for mercy every time you cracked open another case. You're basically the grim reaper of PC repairs.

You ever actually kill a board just by opening a case, or is it more about the horror stories you hear?

27 volts through a screwdriver tip straight to the board while my wrist brushed the PSU cover, and @cameron684 that's the real nightmare nobody talks about. It's not the case opening that kills boards, it's forgetting to unplug the big 24-pin or leaving a static wrist strap dangling around like a lightning rod. I've seen a guy fry an entire rig just by bumping a live PSU with a loose screwdriver, no magic involved.
