Tried self-leveling compound on a bathroom floor and it ended up looking like the moon surface

I mixed the stuff too thick and it set up before I could spread it out. Ended up with craters and ridges everywhere. Has anyone else had trouble getting that stuff to flow right?

You need to use a gauge rake and add a little more water than the bag says.

Toss that bag advice and do @shanel13's method instead, it works way better.
