Serious question, my internet router gave out on a Tuesday morning right before a Zoom call

I mean, it was totally fine on Monday night, then Tuesday at 9am, nothing. I couldn't even get into the settings page. Ended up driving to Best Buy in Arlington and dropping $120 on some off-brand replacement. Has anyone else had a router just die with no warning like that, or was mine just a lemon?

Wait, you dropped $120 on a random off-brand router from Best Buy? I don't think I've ever heard of a router just flat-out dying like that without some warning signs first. Mine at least flickers lights or gets super hot before it gives up.
