That new pizza spot on Whyte Ave surprised me big time
I finally tried that new Neapolitan place on Whyte Ave last Friday, the one that took over the old tattoo shop spot. I went in thinking it was gonna be overhyped but honestly the crust was perfection, light and bubbly with just the right char. The margherita was $18 which felt a bit steep but the sauce actually tasted like real tomatoes, not the sugary stuff. My only complaint was the wait time, we stood outside for 40 minutes even on a weekday. Is it just me or does Edmonton need more spots like this that aren't trying to be fancy chain places? Anyone else been and know if they do takeout in a reasonable time?

Oh they definitely do takeout but you gotta order ahead online, I called in and they told me it cuts the wait down to like 15 minutes. And it's not Neapolitan technically, it's more of a Roman style since the crust is airy but crispier on the bottom.

Oh come on, is the pizza style really that important? I mean I get it's good to know what you're eating @patricia_wells but calling it Roman vs Neapolitan just feels like splitting hairs to me. The online ordering tip is solid though, I've done that at a few places and it does save you from standing around waiting. At the end of the day it's still flat bread with cheese and sauce, you know?

You said "flat bread with cheese and sauce" but that's like saying all cars are just metal boxes with wheels. The texture difference between a Roman crust and a Neapolitan one is huge. A Neapolitan gets all floppy and wet in the middle, Roman stays crispy all the way through. Makes a big difference when you're eating it.
