I called every contact I had from a trade show two years ago and found a better local source, but has anyone else had to pivot that fast on a core material?

How much inventory did you have left when they pulled that? I keep a small backup supplier for my main stuff just for this reason, even if their prices are a bit higher normally. That two-year-old contact list saved you, it's wild how those random connections pay off later. Honestly, switching that fast might end up being a good thing if the new local source is better.
