Tried a different way to apply mask to oily zones and it actually held

Had a client last week with super oily T-zone but dry cheeks, and the clay mask kept sliding off her nose before it could set. I mixed a tiny bit of my setting powder, the Ben Nye Neutral Set kind, into the mask before applying it just to that area. It dried in place perfectly in about 4 minutes and didn't feel tight or crack. Has anyone else tried something like this for spot treatments?

Makes total sense that powder would help it set. Honestly, I've used a bit of cornstarch in a pinch for the same reason on my own skin. It just gives the mask something extra to grip onto without changing the formula much.

Ever try mixing powder into the mask before you apply it? I feel like that could make it stick even better.
