Warning: College killed our meeting on job markets

Hold up, @wendychen has a thought, but is it really that bad? Schools hide small things all the time, like budget cuts or teacher drama. Most grads won't even remember that stuff when they need a job reference. Trust is built on bigger things, like how the school helped them learn. So maybe hiding a few secrets now doesn't ruin everything later.

My cousin's DIY chimney clean almost burned their house down.

Seriously, what was your cousin thinking trying to clean a chimney themselves? Chimney fires are no joke, and DIY without proper knowledge is just asking for trouble. Did they even check for creosote buildup or use the right tools? Most people don't realize how fast a small spark can turn into a full blown fire. It's scary how one shortcut can risk everything. Why do we always think we can handle things better than professionals?

Keeping a log of my weld settings has made repeat jobs a breeze

Ever think writing down welder settings was overkill? I used to believe I could just remember, but Mike's story convinced me otherwise. Started keeping my own cheat sheet on the machine, and now I don't waste time guessing. Honestly, noting the joint type and amps saves me so many headaches.

Our team read a challenged graphic novel and it opened up tough talks

But is it actually that big of a deal? Sometimes I wonder if we make too much of this stuff. People have always skipped over the rough parts of history because it's just plain uncomfortable. Maybe they're not trying to hide anything, they just don't want to feel bad. It doesn't mean we're missing some huge lesson, it might just mean we'd rather think about today.
