Lately I see jobs where people want things done fast and cheap, not right. Like last week, a lady wanted me to build shelves without anchoring them to studs. She said it was fine since they'd hold light stuff, but I know that's asking for trouble. I offered to do it proper, but she hired someone else who said yes. It bugs me because that shelf could fail and hurt someone. Other carpenters must face this choice between losing cash and doing safe work. What's your take on handling these situations?
