After a repeat false alarm call, I'm sold on dual-tech motion sensors.

Sold on that "won't go back" feeling, huh? My old single-tech sensor was basically a cat alarm clock. One midnight stroll for a snack and the whole neighborhood knew about it. I started having daydreams about a quiet life, maybe in a cabin without any pets or motion sensors. Now I just get to sleep while my cat plots world domination in peace.

When a client wanted me to lie on a warranty claim

My buddy's shop almost lost its license over a similar lie, which makes what @christopher_burns7 said about your license being on the line so true. The pressure is real but folding just isn't worth it.

Showerthought: My trip to Bangkok showed me fancy dinners are a waste of money

Exactly! You're hitting on what really bugs me about those "only cheap food" posts. It acts like every traveler has the same wallet and same taste buds. My best memory from Rome was this one fancy dinner that cost way too much, but I still dream about that pasta. Judging how others spend their own trip money just seems pointless.

Appreciation post: Those basic meditation pamphlets from community centers.

Found an old yoga booklet at a garage sale that just showed poses without any extra fluff. Sometimes the plain stuff works better.

My kids quit fighting after they started helping with dog training

Hey that's great! My niece and nephew were the same way when we got their spaniel. We started having them take turns giving the "wait" command at doors, which gave them a shared goal. The dog learned faster with all the practice, and the kids got less impatient when they saw how repetition worked.
