Visited a hardware store in Austin and their lumber section was a mess
I stopped by that big hardware store on South Congress last weekend, and their lumber aisle was all mixed up. I saw 2x4s shoved into the cedar bin and pressure treated boards stacked on top of clear pine. Everyone online raves about how organized they are, but I had to dig through three different piles just to find straight studs. Has anyone else noticed their local store getting sloppy with lumber lately?

Yeah mine got bad too, had to dig through a whole bin of warped boards just to find four good ones.

Huh, that's weird because I actually think the mess is on purpose. I heard from a buddy that works there that they mix up the bins so people have to dig around and end up buying more stuff they don't need while they're looking for the right lumber.
