UPS dropped my packages at the wrong door for 2 weeks before I noticed
My shop is in a strip mall in Phoenix and I have two entrances, the front one faces the street and the back one faces the loading dock. I always have drivers drop at the front because that's where my sign is. But about 3 weeks ago a new UPS guy started running the route and he kept leaving boxes at the back door, which is just a gray metal door with no label. I thought sales were tanking because my order volume dropped like 40 percent over those 2 weeks. Turned out 14 packages were stacked up back there, some of them sitting in the sun for days. One had a heat sensitive lip balm order and it was just a puddle in the box. The crazy part is nothing got stolen, which in this area is a miracle. I put a huge sign on the back door saying USE FRONT DOOR and wrote on every future delivery note. How do you guys handle driver routes changing without having to babysit every shipment? Has anyone else had a carrier just silently switch drop locations on them?
