inPSA: Image compression on art sites is killing detail.
Ugh, @craig.drew, people who care about their work definitely notice those details.

inI saw a pitmaster in Austin use a whole watermelon on his smoker yesterday.
Yeah, getting a firm one is key like you said. I did one with just a heavy coat of coarse salt and let it sit for an hour before smoking. That really pulled out some water and let the smoke flavor get in there. I used cherry wood and it gave it this sweet, almost ham-like taste. It's messy to eat but so good.

inMy uncle said to always book a place for a month minimum, even if it costs more upfront. I ignored him for a year and lost about $2000.
It depends if you're new in town or not... a month gives you time to actually learn the neighborhoods and not get stuck in a bad spot long term.

inA customer in Toledo told me my torque wrench clicks were too fast to hear. Bought a digital one the next day.
Yeah, "clicks were too fast to hear" is a real problem with some of the louder shop environments. @oliviabennett, it sounds wild until you're trying to listen for it over an air compressor and a radio. Going digital was a smart move by that customer. The visual readout takes the guesswork out completely, you just watch for the number or the flash. I keep a cheap beam-style wrench as a backup for when batteries die, though.
